Faculty mentors in this REU program are involved in a number of ongoing research projects. Please rank the projects based on your interest. Other projects may also be available depending upon student interests and availability of other additional faculty mentors. You may read about each of the projects.

Electron-electron correlation physics
Numerical methods for phase field models
Interfacial properties in high-performance composite materials
Image denoising and segmentation methods for material analysis

In soliciting the recommendation letters, please ask your professors to address comments on your scientific and computational knowledge, maturity, written and oral communication skills, work habits, computer skills, creativity, scientific curiosity, ability to follow directions and work with others, and overall potential to perform research.
