Announcements

Dr. Ioana Banicescu was awarded a planning grant for an Autonomic Computing Center at Mississippi State University. The award, awarded by NSF, starts July, 2009 and runs through June, 2010. For more information, visit the NSF award announcement.
Dr. Seong-Gon Kim, Associate Director of CCS, has been named as the 2008 Henry Family Dean's Eminent Scholar at the College of Arts & Sciences. Dr. Kim is an Associate Professor of Computational Physics in the MSU Department of Physics and Astronomy.
Dr. Ioana Banicescu, who is a Computer Science and Engineering Department professor and Center for Computational Sciences (CCS) member, has been honored with an invitation from the European Research Council to serve on the European Research Council Advanced Grant Evaluation Panel. This panel will be active from 2008-2013. The European Research Council promotes outstanding, frontier research in the sciences and humanities across Europe. Having a faculty member serve on this elite panel of this prestigious council is a superb achievement for MSU.

Dr. Mark Novotny was awarded the 2006 College of Arts and Sciences Faculty/Research Scientist Award presented by the Office of Research at MSU.

Dr. Ioana Banicescu was awarded the 2005 Bagley College of Engineering Faculty/Research Scientist Award presented by the Office Of Research at MSU and the Hearin Eminent Scholar Award presented by the Bagley College of Engineering at MSU.
